From 'The Dictionary of Daily Wants' - 1858-1859
AMMONIA, ACETATE OF, SOLUTION OF. - Mix one ounce with six ounces of water,
from which a lotion is obtained for applying' to external inflammation, bruises, scald
head, &c.
AMMONIA, AROMATIC SPIRITS OF. - For debility, fainting, spasms, and
hysterics, take from thirty to forty drops in a wine-glassful of water.
